The Codex Hammer by Leonardo Da Vinci Artifact

The Codex Leicester (also succinctly renowned as Codex Hammer) is a collection of mostly technical writings by Leonardo da Vinci. The codex is named after Thomas Coke, subsequent conceived Earl of Leicester, who bought it in 1719. Of Leonardo's 30 technical periodicals, the Codex may be the most well known of all. The manuscript holds the record for the sale price of any book, when it was traded to Bill Gates at Christie's auction house on 11 November 1994 in New York for $US 30,802,500.

The Codex presents an insight into the inquiring brain of the definitive Renaissance creative person, scientist and thinker as well as an outstanding illustration of the link between art and research and the creativity of the technical process.
